“Clean your room” isn’t one chore.

Start with three, not twelve

Turn the room into jobs a child can actually finish.

“Clean your room” makes sense to an adult who can silently build a plan. A child hears one enormous job. Pull out three visible outcomes and stop there for the first round.

Try: “Don’t clean the whole room. Start with clothes in the hamper. Come find me when the floor is clear of clothes.”

The photo is the finish line, not the chore.

For a visible job, a quick private photo lets the child show the result and lets the parent close the loop once. Skip the photo when you already saw the work, the child needs help, or the job cannot be shown clearly.
